Even Little Actions Can Matter
This week the car needed new tires. I was hoping to get them installed in Fortuna, but after visiting both tire outlets, I came home tireless as both stores had Fox News playing on the TV in the waiting room.
I use to just grin and bear having to listen to Fox News while waiting in some business but after Jan. 6th, I won’t put up with being assaulted by the lies they spew to their viewers.
I also don’t feel like my hard earned dollars should support business owners who feel it’s ok to offend half of their customers by making them listen to Fox News.
I won’t eat in restaurants where it’s playing either. I will first ask management if they can change the channel, and if not I get up and leave.
Before walking out, I did let both businesses know why I wouldn’t be doing business with them.
I don’t know if either will change the channel on their TV, but hopefully my complaints will make it to the managers and they’ll give it some thought.
So if you find yourself stuck in some waiting room having to put up with Fox New’s lies, ask if they could change the channel to the Nature Channel, or something else a bit less political.
If they don’t, consider taking your business elsewhere if there’s another option.
If you feel that Fox News is as big a threat to our democracy as I do, you might also want to sign up for the email newsletter from CheckMyAds.com. They have a campaign to get Fox banned from ad exchanges that place ads on websites.
They’ve previously been successful getting the websites of Dan Bongino, Charlie Kirk, Glenn Beck, Steve Bannon, and Tim Pool banned from the exchanges, costing them serious revenue.
