Indivisible Ferndale calendar updates for February

First, a BIG thank you to a dozen Indivisible Ferndale members who attended the “Run, Serve, Lead” seminar this past Sunday in Fortuna.  As usual, we were the largest contingent from any one progressive organization.

A great panel that included Renee Saucedo, our own council member, Patrick O’Rourke, Cliff Clendenen and Danny Kelley (CR Board Trustee!) answered attendees’ questions .  Check out the photos here.

Besides recruiting a few more members for IF at our table afterwards, I was able to invite one of the presenters, Sofia Pereira, current mayor of Arcata, to attend our March general meeting.   We first met Sofia during Bonnie’s campaign to discuss strategies.   She must have given us excellent advice because we won!  Sofia is also a member of sheshouldrun.org, a resource for women who are either interested in running for office or supporting those that do.  Go here to learn more.

Many thanks go to Carrie Peyton-Dahlberg and the North Coast People’s Alliance who put the seminar together.   Excellent Job, Carrie!  Read the pre-event Times Standard story here with a mention of Indivisible Ferndale included.

The Indivisible Ferndale Calendar and Actions pages have been updated.  If you are not yet an IF committee member, take a look at the meetings scheduled and consider dropping by.

Rapid Response Training scheduled for February 28

The Indivisible Ferndale Community Committee has scheduled a Rapid Response Training session right here in Ferndale.  This training will help us develop a network of Rapid Responders when ICE raids are occurring in our community.   We need a total of 10 attendees to hold the training here.   We still need five more attendees.  Read more about the training here.

  • Date: Wednesday, February 28
  • Time: 4:30 to 7:30
  • Location: Jackie Corey’s home at 724 Vanston Street
  • Please RSVP here

If there is any question in your mind as to whether you should take this training and get involved, read this SF Chronicle story from last week.   We must support our immigrant community now!

Together, We are Indivisible!
