A Letter of Support for the “California Values Act”

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, March 15, Jim Aste is requesting that the Ferndale City Council review and discuss a letter in support of California Senate Bill 54 entitled the “California Values Act.”  The meeting begins at 7:00 pm at Ferndale’s Town Hall.

Jim needs our support at this meeting.  We need to be there.

This bill was introduced on December 5, 2016 by Senator De León. The purpose of this bill is to limit state and local law enforcement agencies involvement in immigration enforcement and to ensure that eligible individuals are able to seek services from and engage with state agencies without regard to their immigration status.

Councilman O’Rourke and Councilman Sweeney have requested a letter of support regarding California SB 54 be sent. Ferndale resident, Jim Aste, has asked to present and speak about this agenda item.

You can read Jim’s letters here.

You can read SB54 here.

Don’t forget to send your postcards to Caroline and Stu Titus thanking them for providing a “platform in print” where ALL the voices of the Ferndale community can be heard!

We are one nation, one community: Indivisible!

And we have made sure that other like-minded organizations are aware:Surge, ACLU, El Centre Del Puebla, Stand Up Humboldt, etc.
